A beautiful city...
A wonderful place to start your new phase in Life...
You should work here...
It will change your life-style...
Bangalore!!!, It will be fun... You will enjoy over there...
These were some of the words that were poured into my ears before I started on my job hunt. With great expectations I landed here on January 2009. And yes I did find a job with help of my cousin in less than 2 weeks but with a lot of terms and conditions, ofcourse. Its been more than 2 months now (well nearly 3 months actually) and probably longest time since I am out of Coimbatore eventually. Believe me, I must say this METRO life seems to be catching up on me. Even though I haven't been to any pubs or found any Social circle here, I must say Life is really on the fast lane. Though I wanted to blog about this sooner, I never found time because of work. I have experienced a lot in these 2 months. Some characters whom I have never come across, Some new experiences. Some good ones and some bad ones. I will tell about it but I am not going to list any particular names or incidents because I dont want to hurt them unintentionally or intentionally. Here are some points about Bangalore.
- TIME - This will be one factor which could change your course of life in a metro. You want to do things at a point of time but you can't because you will be occupied with yourself the whole day.
- CLIMATE - Pretty Decent I might add, though I spend half of my day in an air-conditioned office. The climate is something you wont have to worry about (unlike Chennai or Delhi)
- PEOPLE - I must appreciate the people in Bangalore. They are good and are IN with the modern times. They get along well with everyone ( I hope so because a lot of people are nice to me). Colorful, Multi-cultured,Care-free,etc are few terms that I can add to the "PEOPLE" of bangalore city.
- MONEY - Something you should not think about how and where do you spend your money. One Second you have it and next second there is a hole in your wallet :)
- LOTS OF GREEN - It was nice to see a lot of trees everywhere you go (unlike coimbatore)
- LOTS OF PLACES TO GO AND HAVE A LOOK.
- LOT OF GOOD THINGS WHICH YOU WILL DEFINITELY SEE :P
Lets get to the bad stuff now.... (Shall we??)
- TRAFFIC - Oh man!! I don't even want to talk about it
- ROADS - I thought Bangalore had good roads but come on, they are really bad... really really bad.
- POLLUTION - cough... cough... (need i say more)
- BRIBING RICKSHAW DRIVERS - "Sir.. 10 Rs extra..., 20 Rs extra..., 1.5 * Meter..., 2 * Meter.." If you can try finding a bus seriously, I have lost a lot of money to these auto drivers because I dont know the language here and I am trying my best to learn it ASAFP.
- STRAY DOGS - Beware of Dogs lurking in the dark they will chase you till they give up (and believe me they dont give up that easily). Dont even think about taking the vehicle after 11PM, this city should also be called "STRAYDOG MILLION-(H)ERE" :P
- REGIONALISTS - (Ref. Dictionary for details) Yes I happened to encounter with some of them (who dont even bother about others feelings and) speak in a way such that they slap u with their words.
These are just few points based on my experience so far. This space will keep on updating in the near future... So keep a check every now and then ;)
